NEW DELHI: Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal intensified his criticism of the BJP, alleging that the party's reluctance to announce a chief ministerial candidate stems from fear of defeat. Kejriwal suggested that the BJP has chosen former South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri, who is contesting against Chief Minister Atishi in Kalkaji, as its candidate. In response, BJP leaders pointed to a court order restricting Kejriwal's ability to serve as chief minister due to his bail conditions in a police case. Kejriwal challenged Bidhuri to a public debate to clarify their visions for Delhi. Bidhuri's controversial remarks, including Islamophobic slurs, have previously drawn backlash, and despite BJP's attempts to distance itself from his comments, they remain a focal point in the campaign. The BJP maintains that its lotus symbol is sufficient for electoral success.
