Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, known for his role as Bhishma in Mahabharat, recently shared his thoughts on Nag Ashwin's film 'Kalki 2898 AD', which has been inspired by the Hindu epic. While he praised the production values, Khanna criticized the filmmakers for changing elements of the Mahabharata, calling it offensive. He highlighted discrepancies in the portrayal of characters like Krishna and Ashwatthama, expressing concern over the lack of respect for traditions in South Indian cinema. Khanna suggested the government should establish a committee to approve or reject projects with mythological connections at the script stage. Despite the controversy, 'Kalki 2898 AD' has been a box office success, grossing over Rs 700 crore worldwide in just one week, featuring a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. 
The Bollywood film "Kill," starring Raghav Juyal, Lakshya, and Tanya Maniktala, experienced a slight increase in earnings on Saturday, raking in Rs 1.90 crore at the domestic box office, bringing its total collection in India to Rs 3.15 crore. Produced by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga, the movie performed well in Mumbai and South Indian cities. Despite facing tough competition from Prabhas' "Kalki 2898 AD," which features Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone and is still drawing audiences in its second week, "Kill" managed to attract viewers, with varying occupancy rates throughout the day. Morning shows had a low 6.33% occupancy, which increased to 19.48% at night, as reported by Sacnilk.

Director Michael Sarnoski has hinted at the possibility of a sequel to the sci-fi horror film "A Quiet Place: Day One", which has been receiving positive reviews and has already made USD 118 million worldwide since its release on June 28. The movie, a spin-off based on an idea from John Krasinski, follows the story of a cancer patient named Sam and a young law student named Eric as they navigate a world invaded by sound-sensitive aliens.
