During the promotions of Hindustani 2, director Shankar revealed that he would only consider making sequels to his films like Shivaji, Nayak, and Aparichit if he found the right subject that resonated with him. Emphasizing that his films are from the common man's perspective, Shankar stated that he wouldn't create sequels just for the sake of it. Currently focused on completing Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer, Shankar clarified that he has no immediate plans for sequels after Indian 2. With only 10-15 days of shoot left for Game Changer, post-production work will soon commence, marking a shift in the director's upcoming projects. 
Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, along with his friend Pavithra Gowda and 15 others, had their judicial custody extended till July 18 in connection with the murder of S Renukaswamy. The post-mortem report revealed that Renukaswamy, a fan of the actor, died from shock and haemorrhage due to multiple blunt injuries. Allegedly, Renukaswamy had sent obscene messages to Gowda, enraging Darshan and leading to his murder. The accused were produced before the magistrate through video conferencing from prisons in Bengaluru and Tumakuru. Police sources claim that Pavithra Gowda played a significant role in instigating and conspiring with others to commit the crime. The incident has shocked the community in Chitradurga, where the victim was from, and has raised concerns about the influence of celebrities on their fans.
