NEW DELHI: In a disturbing series of bomb hoaxes that gripped Delhi's schools, police have arrested a Class 12 student who orchestrated the threats to evade exams. The minor sent bomb threat emails to at least six different schools, including one to 23 institutions simultaneously, aiming to create chaos and disrupt the examination schedule. Despite extensive searches by bomb squads that found no explosives, the hoaxes prompted significant panic and wasted valuable time for students and staff. Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal criticized the deteriorating law and order situation, while current Chief Minister Atishi blamed the BJP-led central government for the crisis. In response to the escalating threats, police have begun training school staff on crisis management. The wave of hoaxes also affected airlines, causing emergency landings and operational disruptions. The police continue to investigate similar incidents, including previous arrests linked to bomb threats.
