Village Defence Guard Killed by Terrorists in Udhampur, J&K

A Village Defence Guard member was killed in a gunfight with suspected terrorists in a remote village in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district. The exchange of fire occurred in Panara village of Basantgarh during a patrolling operation by police and VDGs. The terrorists, believed to have recently infiltrated from Pakistan, fled into the forest area and are being pursued by security forces. The deceased VDG member, Mohd Sharief, was critically injured during the encounter. Security forces are conducting a massive search operation to track down and neutralize the terrorists, who are suspected to have infiltrated from Kathua district and are heading towards Kashmir via Chenab valley. The Army has deployed Special Forces in the forest area to assist in the operation, with no fresh contact reported with the terrorists. sources

Jaipur schools evacuated due to bomb threat
