The Karnataka Maritime Board (KMB) has formalized multiple agreements aimed at bolstering the state's maritime sector, with anticipated investments of approximately ₹4,500 crore. During the India Maritime Week 2025, KMB entered into a concession agreement with JSW Infrastructure Ltd for a ₹4,118 crore all-weather deep-water greenfield port at Keni, Uttara Kannada, under a public-private partnership. Additionally, KMB signed a memorandum of understanding with Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd for a ₹45.88 crore railway siding development in the same district. An MoU with the Inland Waterway Authority of India was also established to enhance national waterways in Karnataka, valued at ₹300 crore. Furthermore, KMB partnered with the National Inland Navigation Institute to create a Centre of Excellence in Mangaluru and collaborated with the Karnataka Department of Fisheries on ₹12 crore projects in Ballari, focusing on cold storage and processing facilities.
