Narasipura has summoned Kannada actor Darshan and his wife, Vijayalaxmi, to appear on July 4 regarding the illegal possession of four bar-headed geese at their farmhouse near Mysuru. Pacific Ocean Shrinking; New Supercontinent Forming, Study Finds

Scientists from Curtin University and Peking University have projected that a new supercontinent, named Amasia, could form within the next 200 to 300 million years as the Pacific Ocean gradually closes. Their research, published in the journal *National Science Review*, suggests that tectonic plates will converge, leading to significant geographical changes. Australia is anticipated to collide with Asia, which will play a crucial role in Amasia's formation, as it connects America and Asia following the Pacific's closure. Dr. Chuan Huang, a member of the research team, emphasized that this new model challenges previous theories by indicating that the Pacific Ocean, remnants of the ancient Panthalassa superocean, will close first. Historically, Earth's continents have merged to create supercontinents approximately every 600 million years, suggesting that a new cycle is imminent. sources

Monsoon Arrives Early in India, First Since 2009

The southwest monsoon made an early arrival in Kerala on Saturday, reaching the Indian mainland for the first time since 2009, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Typically, the monsoon begins over Kerala by June 1 and covers the country by July 8, but this year it arrived on May 30, marking a significant shift in its pattern. Historical data indicates the earliest onset occurred in 1990, on May 19. Meteorologists emphasize that the onset date does not directly correlate with overall seasonal rainfall, which is influenced by various factors. The IMD has predicted above-normal rainfall for the 2025 monsoon, dismissing concerns about El Niño conditions. The monsoon is vital for India's agriculture, impacting the livelihoods of 42% of the population and contributing significantly to the GDP, while also replenishing crucial water reservoirs for drinking and power generation. sources
