Published: Mar 13 2025, 1 pmeznews.inAs discussions about a potential recession in the US intensify, economists estimate a 35% likelihood, driven by government spending cuts and President Trump's tariff strategies targeting major trading partners like China and Canada. Dubbed “Trumpcession,” the term reflects the unconventional economic policies that may lead to significant changes in the US economy. Despite recent fears, the US economy has shown resilience, with a low unemployment rate and ongoing growth, although the federal deficit reached $1.833 trillion in 2024, the highest outside the COVID era. Trump's ambition to revive American manufacturing faces challenges amid technological advancements and a service-dominated job market. The geopolitical landscape, influenced by conflicts such as the Russia-Ukraine war, further complicates the economic outlook. As inflation and income cuts loom, the impact on American citizens remains uncertain, raising questions about whether the price of Trump's economic vision will be worth the potential pain.

Speaking at a Mumbai event, he asserted that innovative entrepreneurship could make poverty "vanish" and criticized the reliance on freebies, stating that no country has succeeded in solving poverty through such measures. Murthy suggested that incentives should accompany benefits, using free electricity as an example to advocate for monitoring the impact on education and family engagement. His comments come amid a broader debate, echoed by the Supreme Court, which has condemned the practice of political parties offering freebies before elections. The court warned that such measures could foster dependency, creating a "class of parasites" unwilling to contribute to society.
