The BJP's K Annamalai and former Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan also condemned the decision, asserting it undermines national interests. Dubbed “Trumpcession,” the term reflects the unconventional economic policies that may lead to significant changes in the US economy. Despite recent fears, the US economy has shown resilience, with a low unemployment rate and ongoing growth, although the federal deficit reached $1.833 trillion in 2024, the highest outside the COVID era. Trump's ambition to revive American manufacturing faces challenges amid technological advancements and a service-dominated job market. The geopolitical landscape, influenced by conflicts such as the Russia-Ukraine war, further complicates the economic outlook. As inflation and income cuts loom, the impact on American citizens remains uncertain, raising questions about whether the price of Trump's economic vision will be worth the potential pain.
