Additionally, the government has increased excise duties on petrol and diesel, with petrol now at Rs 13 per litre and diesel at Rs 10 per litre. However, this hike will not affect consumers, as it will be offset by reductions in retail prices due to falling international oil prices. The new excise duties will take effect on April 8, 2025, but consumers will see no change in fuel prices at the pump.
